As We Are

FOUND by Jennifer in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
I bought The Hunger Games book at a Value Village thrift store, and this note was tucked inside. I didn’t find the note until I actually started reading it, about two weeks after I bought it.

25 Hilarious Passive Aggressive Roommate Notes

If you have any roommates (or have had them in the past) then you are probably well acquainted with the frustrations of sharing your refrigerator space, dishes, and toilet paper.  Of course, although it’s probably best to talk through your problems face to face, it’s not nearly as funny as leaving witty sticky notes hanging from your refrigerator. These 25 hilarious passive aggressive roommate notes bring you some of the best.

Expect the Best

FOUND by Sailor in Silver Spring, Maryland
My mom actually found this piece at least three years ago. I told her about FOUND Magazine around 2005, and this is her first paper solo find. We have found balloons while kayaking, and washers and other metal bits in the street while walking. This list reminds me of my job as a foster care social worker, and how much the world would be different for all of those kiddos if some adults could just practice this list.

Meet Me at Giant Burger

FOUND by Rebecca Murphey slid in a spiral notebook in storage
We are not sure who these people are as this note was found in the storage unit for the public library where we work. As librarians our imaginations are endless, and the people and stories that we have come up with are endless. This is one of those “Hmmm…” make-you-think notes.

Dr. Master Fire Bender

FOUND by Tony in Arcadia National Park, Arcadia, Maine
I was exhausted from driving all night from Vermont to Maine to get in line to, hopefully, nab a campsite. Hadn’t brought and firewood as I wanted to try to get a place to rest my weary bones first. I did secure a site and put up my tent, which took longer than usual because of my tiredness. As I was getting ready to head out and buy firewood, I look on the picnic table and see this note. It made me laugh and warmed me. I want to send out a big thank you to the person who left this note and the wood.

Concealed

FOUND by Matt Offer in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK
I found this lying on the ground on the corner opposite our office where all sorts of characters hang about. I’m not really sure whether I want to know what was concealed!

Going to Portland

FOUND by Sam in Portland, Oregon
There is nothing for me to add. It’s perfectly Portland.
